You wouldn’t throw a house party and let anyone and everyone in. But that’s exactly what you’re doing if you’re not CHOOSING your thoughts and keeping the negative ones out.  No matter what your goal, it’s important to choose thoughts that move you TOWARD achieving it.  It’s just as important to let go of thoughts that DISTRACT you from your goal.

Thoughts are energy; they ebb and flow. Some thoughts are helpful and move you toward your goal, while others are hurtful and move you away from your goal. If you notice the hurtful/negative ones when they first show up and immediately SHIFT your attention to a helpful/positive thought, you will keep moving toward your goal, which is ultimately to be happy. (Watch this video for two phrases you can use to keep moving toward ANY goal you have.)
